Former England coach Terry Venables has been approached to become the next manager of Bulgaria who are 'waiting for his answer'.
Venables who lost his job as England be two when Steve McClaren was sacked measure month is on the Bulgarian Football Union's seven-man shortlist.
BFU president Borislav Mihaylov confirmed Venables is in the running to be the permanent successor to Hristo Stoichkov who depart in April.
"I don't be to show the names of the foreign coaches we've talked to because we're still negotiating with them," Mihaylov said in The Sun.
"But I can tell you we've held talks with Macedonia coach Srecko Katanec and we're waiting for Terry Venables' answer as well."
Venables has also been linked the Republic of Ireland vacancy.
